Finding that classic car you’ve wanted for years can be a challenge. Here at Tecositalia, we’ve created the perfect step by step guide on just how to find a trustable seller with your classic car in great condition.

1. Determine what you’ll be using the car for.
If you’re planning to use it as a daily driver, there no need to find it in a “show condition.” If you plan on entering into a show car competition, it’s best to find it with it’s original parts.

2. Choose a model.
Once you’ve determined it’s use, narrow it down to 2 or 3 years. Be open having the car you want within different years. Unless you’re really adamant to get a specific model, this will give you more options and sellers to choose from.

3. Join an owner’s club.
You can make your search for finding one so much easier by joining an owner’s club. There’s a high chance someone in the club might want to sell theirs or know of someone who does. Not only that, but you’ll be able to get real indepth information about the car, maintaining, it and it’s upkeep from current owners.

4. Look online. Craigslist and car resell specific sites could just have what you’re looking for. Don’t forget about the car fax.

6. Set aside your budget. Because classic cars can cost a wide range of prices, it’s always smart to know how much you’re willing to spend and what’s reasonable. Sellers are in the business of selling used cars after all. Watch you back and negotiate from your stand.

8. Buy a restored version. If it becomes really challenging to find the car you sought, consider buying a restored version. Not only will it be the car you want, but who know! It comes come with some upgrades or upgraded upholstery or a stereo.
